Y&R Spoilers: Summer’s Romance With Chance Doesn’t Pass Overprotective Nick’s Muster

The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) new romance with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) doesn’t pass her overprotective father’s muster.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) goes to Society, where he reconnects with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and then they encounter Summer and Chance on a date.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nick Newman Runs Into Phyllis Summers

First, Nick runs into Phyllis, Summer’s mother at Society and they reconnect briefly-Phyllis is sure to catch Nick up on her latest endeavors, if he hasn’t already heard through the grapevine.

Maybe they’ll sit for a while and play games on their phones-Nick remembering that’s how they got “reconnected” before, although he may not be ready for that again.

Then they walk together to a table where Nick has spotted their daughter Summer sitting with Chance-who’s quite a bit older than Summer.

Nick and Phyllis walk together to Chance and Summer’s table and the confusion and disapproval is evident on Nick’s face.

For one thing, he may not be in the loop and realize that Chance and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) are no longer dating.

Y & R Spoilers – Nick Newman And Phyllis Summers Approach

Nick has known Chance for a long time and knows that forced by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) he did him a favor-he didn’t blame Nick for Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) death.

Chance didn’t much like being controlled by Victor’s Newman machine, but he went along with the coverup report of an automobile accident like Victor’s men staged it.

It was an accident-Nick slugged Locke but he was protecting Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Locke hit his head on the fireplace and died.

Right now, Nick is much more concerned about the much older Chance appearing to be on a date with his daughter Summer, who’s barely gotten over Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Chance sees Nick and Phyllis coming towards his and Summer’s table.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – He’s Got That He’s Too Old For Her Look On His Face

Chance was previously married to Nick’s youngest sister Abby Newman (Melissa Claire Ordway) and he’s several years older than Abby, and here he is with Summer?

Nick approaches with that “he’s too old for her” look on his face, while Phyllis just smiles-Chance invites them over to join them. Phyllis says “sure” and smiles, but Nick says no, we’re not going to do that.

Addressing Chance more than Summer, and displaying the disapproving daddy stare, Nick says “no, no, you guys seem to be um, having a good time on your-uh, is that a date?” Phyllis is likely embarrassed while Summer is more embarrassed!
