As viewers know, Heather’s death was not peaceful. Either Sharon killed her accidentally and dumped her body to cover the crime, or an unknown or unsuspected character is the killer.

Lucy’s grief is intense. She will never get over what happened. Her nightmare is about to metastasize now that Chance believes he’s found what seems like clear evidence of foul play.

Sharon is of two minds. One part of her personality is terrified that her perceived actions will be discovered, while the other is glad Daniel is set to take a massive fall.

Using the Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) projection is a trick. Sharon conjures him to justify committing horrible actions, which seem to include killing Heather.

But viewers are considering this storyline and wondering. How could Sharon be the killer if Case is to remain part of the cast indefinitely?

If Sharon is truly guilty, then she will eventually be arrested, tried, convicted, and jailed. Yet, Case is working in her thirtieth-anniversary season and is known to be staying in the cast. So, a significant head-fake is ahead.

Learning that Heather died accidentally was a jolt. But it would have been sadly digestible in time.

However, learning that she was killed created despair and a need for answers. Daniel did not think to search the home where he, Heather, and Lucy lived for clues because that did not make sense.

But Sharon’s devious plan is not about logic. It’s about long revenge that stretches nearly two decades back to Cassie’s death and peers at the vastness of a future where Daniel rots in a jail cell, wrongly convicted of Heather’s murder.

The plot space between Daniel becoming the chief suspect in Heather’s death and his exoneration is compelling and will play out hard toward Halloween and potentially beyond.
