Framing Daniel for that event is a revenge play based on emotions that were apparently bottled or have developed since after Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) died. Provoking Phyllis is reckless and dramatically increases Sharon’s distress.

But Cassie’s death was not Daniel’s fault. Sharon is projecting her guilt for not protecting her daughter. By implication, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) should play a significant role in this storyline’s resolution.

Who would have the deepest connection to Sharon exacting revenge for Cassie’s death than Mariah?

No one would. However, Grimes’ second character has yet to be seen much in this tale. She joined Faith Newman’s (Reylynn Caster), who feared that their mother was destabilized.

One fitting way to further the building crescendo would be to have Mariah learn what Sharon did. Another would be to have that awareness help to clear Case’s character.

A real-life question remains. How can Case remain a part of Y&R’s cast if her character is guilty of murder, dumping Heather’s body, and framing Daniel?

A short answer would be that she can’t. A surprise could be coming. But there hasn’t been any confirmation to that effect. Therefore, soap fans can believe that a fix twist is coming.

Some unknown pieces of information, potentially including unseen characters, are plausible. Someone else was in the apartment when Heather died and made Sharon believe that she dumped her body in the river.

Devoted viewers recall that Sharon has said she can’t remember portions of that fateful night, indicating that blackouts occurred. Her unconscious state leaves a wide gap for creative outcomes to be presented, allowing Case to remain part of the cast indefinitely.

If the above proves true, fans will have and eat their soapy cake, too. But in any scenario, Case is swimming strongly through some of her best performances in a sea of many across these past three decades.
