Having him sit aside from her, in her mind, is also predictive. Sharon has embraced the darkness Cameron represents. Through her mental illness, she is projecting her wishes as his.
It also appears that Sharon and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) are on a collision course. Lucy, like Sharon, is out of control. Case’s character’s decision with Cameron to target Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is dangerous.
Sharon is using the memory of Cameron, who was one of the better villains of the past on this show. Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) ranks as likely the best overall villain.
Cameron has reappeared in recent months, but not as a live character. He was killed by Sharon with an assist from Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), giving her the knife.
So, Sharon is pushing Cameron as the driver of her thoughts to justify committing intended acts. She appears ready to attack Daniel, potentially trying to take his life in revenge for him being involved in Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) tragic death.
Anything could happen in this storyline. Hopefully, that doesn’t include Lucy or any other character dying.
The best outcome would be some deep drama followed by a positive outcome. However, some hard consequences could result as well.
Lucy’s desperate need to remain friends with Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) feels pushed. O’Briant’s character didn’t return from Europe needy. Yet, she became that way this summer because the storyline called for it.
Putting Lucy into the Cassie role and Faith in the Daniel role is a reversal of what took place nearly twenty years ago on Y&R. Meanwhile, Sharon is lurking, intending to make Daniel pay.
Sharon had a dream where Daniel died instead of Cassie. Grimes had an extended scene as her original alter ego for the first time.
The implication was made. Sharon believes Daniel escaped punishment and that Cassie should have never died. So, she will exact a plot to create justice.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) remains the bane of Sharon’s existence. Getting back at Stafford’s character by harming Daniel would follow. But it is reasonable to wonder if Lucy’s erratic behavior will clash with Sharon’s and create a terrible outcome.
Killing off Lucy would further the highly controversial Cassie-dies storyline of a generation ago. A modern sequel to that would seem undesirable, as would killing off Daniel.
Phyllis likely won’t die because Stafford is a reliable star. But she could get hurt, sending Sharon into legal jeopardy and a trip to the mental ward.
