Y&R Spoilers: Michael Can’t Be Diane’s Ally – Jack Is The Only Option

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Diane Abbott (Susan Walters) is trying to con Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Her anger is not faked, but the target is the Newman family rather than her supposedly estranged husband and only son.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) had what appeared to be a very public falling out with his wife. That followed the Abbott’s bitter break from their son, which became public knowledge.

Victor has big ears. He revels in the drama of his most bitter rivals, with Jack being his top foil and Diane Jenkins, as he disdainfully refers to her, ranking second.

The only friend Diane has in Genoa City, Wisconsin, is Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc). Victor is encouraging him to maintain contact with her to gather information.

However, Michael recently groveled to get back in Victor’s good graces. That came after he and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) protected Victor, though he saw their actions as unforgivable betrayals.

Viewers recall that Cole discovered his deranged aunt Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) was being held captive in Victor’s makeshift basement prison. He confided in Michael, and both men pressured the Moustache to release her. He did, and all was not forgiven.

So, the likelihood that Michael would work with Diane behind Victor’s back is not good. He could be doing so at Victor’s request without telling Diane. But that would be a stretch.

Other than Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), there is arguably no one in Genoa City, Wisconsin, who knows Victor better than Jack. He warned Victor not to go after his family. But he did so.

Including Kyle in the scheme to get revenge against Jack crossed the line. So, it’s plausible to believe that Jack and Diane developed what may be revealed as a plot.

Their angle would be to force Victor to get rid of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), thereby causing him to turn against his boss. Diane pitched what she felt was a believable revenge plot to Victor, where she becomes the head of Glissade.

But Victor either suspected what she was doing or never intended to work with her, even if it meant getting Jack. Victor doesn’t need anyone, especially Diane, to help him defeat his longtime nemesis.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Diane Abbott Is Formidable

Victor was twice married to Diane. He detests her, in part, because she bested him on more than one occasion across the decades.

She remains formidable because her methods can be as cunning as Victor’s orchestrations. He isn’t sure of her intentions but holds the option of using her if doing so furthers his endgame.

Earlier this fall, Victor said he anticipates Kyle will eventually disappoint him. He has no loyalty to Jack’s son.

The race is to see not who moves faster but employs greater cunning. A revealed team of Jack and Diane might be something other than what Victor sees coming.
