Victor has a reputation for being a ruthless businessman; last year he manipulated Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) into helping him seize Glissade from Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).
After promoting her to co-CEO, he shockingly dismissed her. To add insult to injury, Victor’s primary motive for acquiring the company was to undermine Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Jabot, while having Jack’s own son at the helm of Glissade.
Shifting his focus to another set of Abbotts, Victor is now intent on taking Chancellor (Abbott-Chancellor) away from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Jill Chancellor (Jess Walton).
He shows little regard for the impact this might have on Billy’s children, as Victor may also be eyeing Chancellor as a potential gift for Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).
As viewers are aware, he has teamed up with Lily (Christel Khalil) to take control of Chancellor, promising she will land the coveted CEO position once their plan is executed.
However, his true intention is to hand the business over to Nikki, which means he deceived Lily. What makes this situation even more troubling is that he manipulated Lily into collaborating with him by invoking the memory of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).
He frequently expressed his deep respect and admiration for his late friend and her father, leading Lily to trust him blindly.
Recently, Lily had a conversation with Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James), who cautioned her about their Victor’s intentions.
Devon talks to Victor and Nikki in the last episode about Nikki’s strange gift from her husband-he deduces Victor wants Chancellor and plans to have Nikki take charge.
At first, Lily is defensive and doesn’t want to hear her brother out, but she quickly leaves to confront Victor for answers.
Victor, however, doesn’t confirm her doubts, so she decides to ask the one person who might tell her the truth — Nikki.
Lily finds Nikki at a table in the athletic club and gets straight to the point; she questions Nikki about whether Victor is using her to take Chancellor from Billy.
Lily wants to know if Victor’s giving it to her, Nikki-feeling guilty, Nikki admits everything, as she sees Lily as a friend.
Lily is really angry that Victor and Nikki treated her this way, and she leaves in a huff; is she really finished trying to become CEO of Chancellor-we don’t think so!
We believe she might find a silent partner to help her achieve her goal, one who would have enough money to buy Chancellor and a personal interest in the company.
We think this person could be Tucker (Trevor St. John)-although he could be in the form of yet another recast-Y & R has had several Tuckers over the years.
Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) was his mother, and he once tried to take the company for Devon and his family, Tucker isn’t fond of Victor or Billy, and he might want revenge on Victor for Glissade.
