Their son, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) was struggling with his obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and had a major setback while receiving treatment at a facility. The parents raced to his side, but his prognosis was just too much for them to handle.
They leaned on each other a little too hard and had a one-night stand – one that cost them their relationships with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
At the end of the day, Chadam made a mistake, but one thing’s clear, their son will forever bond them. The two would do just about anything to help him, so could that mean moving in together?
Y&R spoilers remind fans that Connor’s OCD isn’t cured, he’s just found coping mechanisms to deal with flare-ups. This means that a set back could always be in the cards.
If something were to happen with Connor’s progress, the parents would work as a cohesive unit to help their son, as they did before. After all, Connor and his wellbeing is a top priority for Chadam, as it should be.
The good news is that Connor is doing well, and as such, Chelsea and Adam are back to work and trying to fall into a routine. However, if their son were to struggle, their daily lives would be thrown for a loop again.
This is where the idea of moving in together would stem from. Perhaps Connor is triggered by his OCD and he’s at Chelsea’s place, asking for Adam, or vice-versa.
Both parents may realize that if all hands are on deck, and they were living under the same roof, they could both be there for their son, and still manage the demands of their careers.
Both Mark Grossman and Melissa Claire Egan were quick to say during interviews that the Chadam one-night stand wasn’t going to equal out to a Chadam reunion. With that being said, all arrows are pointing to the two getting back together.
Both are single now, and Connor wasn’t overly upset when he learned that his dad broke up with Sally and Billy was no longer with his mom.
Like many kids with divorced parents, it’s clear the boy is eager to see his parents back together. Especially since he believes they are getting along so well.
Living together, even if it is for their son’s sake, would bring a lot of emotions back during a time the two were in love. It may also bring some sexual tension into the equation.
Could Chelsea and Adam find themselves giving into temptation if they are both living in the same home?
