Y&R Spoilers: Connor Cuts Chelsea Out Of His Life – Mom Spirals Back Into Depression

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Clair Egan) is having a challenging time as she deals with her son, Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) recent OCD diagnosis.

In many ways, she blames herself, and her recent meltdown after his session with his therapist showed a very vulnerable side to her.

As she wants nothing more than to help him find ways to cope with his condition, she’s all in with him attending a retreat; however, Connor is completely against the idea. Will her persistence have the young boy heading for the hills?

Y&R spoilers note that Connor was able to have a nice talk with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) after the retreat idea was presented to him.

The young boy seemed very adamant about not wanting to go, and Adam nicely assured him that he didn’t have to do anything he didn’t want to. Adam was right in taking this approach. 

After all, if Connor feels pressured, he’ll resist the idea even more; even if they “force him to go”, he may not be receptive to the treatment, which would be a massive failure.

Connor could gravitate closer to his father during this situation. He may even decide he wants to leave the current school he’s in and go back to Genoa City to live with Adam.

Still, while Chelsea means well, her constant persistence around this retreat could rub Connor the wrong way. Could the young man decide to cut his mother out of his life?

Connor “choosing” Adam over her will have Chelsea reeling, not to mention the fact that she’ll be upset she can’t convince him to go on this mental health retreat.

Feeling out of control with this situation could have Chelsea spiraling into a depression; a place she thought she would never go back to.

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will be there to support his girlfriend all he can, but this situation could spiral quickly, and he can’t be Chelsea’s main support system 24/7.
