Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers note that fans were in a frenzy after the Wednesday, May 15th episode, as the closing credits no longer listed Conner Floyd, who plays Chance Chancellor, in the contract section.
Could it be a mistake? It’s important to note that this is the second consecutive week this has occurred, so if it was a blunder, the soap should have rectified it by now. As of this writing, no official statement has been made by either Floyd or the soap, so what exactly is going on?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Is Conner Floyd Now A Recurring Player In GC?
Y&R spoilers suggest that despite Chance Chancellor once being a major player in the land of Genoa City, he’s likely been demoted to recurring status.
Does this mean that there’s a “chance” Chance could be written out of storylines, all together? Is this a temporary or permanent thing?
He had quite the storyline some months back when Chance and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) took their relationship out of the “friends’ zone” and dived into a romance.
Summer has since (rightfully so) been far more preoccupied with her son Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) during his kidnapping and in the aftermath of his rescue.
She’s also (unfortunately) been focused more on getting Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) out of Harrison’s orbit, and is dealing with some drama with ex-hubby, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), as such. So, what does this all mean for Chance?
Y&R Spoilers – Could The Summance Romance Crumble?
It’s hard to say if Conner will officially leave the soap or if he’ll continue with his recurring role.
He does still have the Y&R listed on his bio on Instagram, and there are scenes with him and Summer on the horizon.
It’s important to note that Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) and J. Eddie Peck (Cole Howard) are also recurring players on the show, and get plenty of scenes and juicy storylines, so it’s hard to tell.
If Chance were to leave the canvas, this would open a door for a Summer/Claire/Kyle love triangle, which, considering Ms. Newman’s disdain for her new cousin, would make sense.
Still, so many fans adore the Summance romance that it would be a shame to see the relationship crumble so soon. Especially since viewers waited so long for the couple to come together.
