Y&R Spoilers: Allison Lanier Talks Chance’s Silliness, Being A Mom To Phyllis, & Working With “Graz”

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers note that Summer Newman has a lot on the go. From working full-time at Marchetti to co-parenting with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), a hot romance with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), and being a stepmom to Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell); there’s never a dull moment in Summer’s life!

Off the cusp of her 2024 Daytime Emmy nomination, Allison Lanier sat down with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) to talk all things “Summer”.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman’s Romantic Relationship

On the topic of Summer’s break up with Kyle, Lanier tells SOD that she loved working with Michael Mealor, so learning about Skyle’s relationship being torn apart was a bittersweet moment because she knew they would no longer be working together as much; however, with Harrison’s kidnapping that changed.

SOD brings up the Summance relationship, and Allison notes that Chance is “just a little dreamy, right?” Lanier states she was “super excited about working with someone new, and I really like working with Conner.”

She also reveals that he’s a “funny dude”, adding that Floyd is “ … so silly and makes the scenes go by fast. He’s a good time.”

Y&R Spoilers – Summer Newman’s Family Dynamics

When it comes to the role reversal with her mom Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) as Summer is often the one who tries to keep Red in line.

Lanier states that she loves working with her TV mom and she feels the two have a great mom-daughter chemistry. She adds that she learns a lot from Stafford when they work together.

But, what about her onscreen brother, Daniel Romalotti, played by Michael Graziedai? Lanier goes on to say, “I love Graz! He’s so much fun and he’s such a terrific actor. I love working with him and he’s made really clear choices for his character and that makes everything feel so much more real and grounded …”

She adds, “… in real like we have kind of a funny sibling dynamic that I think translates perfectly on screen.”
