Adam didn’t fight too much or for long after Sally booted him for the second time. He knows his reconnection with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) in Baltimore, Maryland, was wrong.
However, not acknowledging that happened when Sally gave him multiple chances to do so spelled the end of their reunion romance.
Separately, or possibly in a connected way, Sharon kicked Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) out of her head.
She doesn’t know it, but Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) and Ian Ward (Ray Wise) will eventually reveal themselves or be revealed as responsible for the crimes surrounding Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) death. That will lead to Sharon being cleared and ready to restart her life.
Devoted fans recall that Sharon’s most electric love was Adam (when Michael Muhney portrayed that character). Memorable scenes in New Orleans, Louisiana, are emblematic of the unusual nature of that one-time couple’s adventurous history.
Just as Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) bad girl appeal lured Nick, so too did Adam’s bad boy vibe draw Sharon in.
The audience also recalls that Mark Grossman’s version of this character reconnected with Sharon for a brief, torrid moment when he was still living in the penthouse.
Both characters care about each other, but they’ve been involved with other people for years. But it’s plausible to wonder if they’re being positioned for a rebound.
Seeing Sally with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), of all people, was jarring. That was the intended effect, as Sally coped with it when she and Billy talked at the table within the range of Adam and his dad at the Genoa City Athletic Club.
Viewers knew what Hope and Thompson’s characters were doing. The draw between them was based on payback. But it’s clear that Sally and Billy are attracted to each other and might have a future if their feelings extend beyond making Adam mad.
Adam didn’t bite as hard as he would have had Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) not been with him. However, his visit to Sharon directly resulted from seeing Sally with his longtime nemesis.
Sharon’s ability to clear Cameron is a significant step. Her mind summoned him, engaged in what seemed to be a final talk, and then bid him good riddance.
Case’s character told her psychological projection that she’s getting stronger. She’ll need to dig deeper in the coming days because Jordan and Ian certainly haven’t been written back to town for a few episodes.
The audience must gain knowledge of how these great, soapy villains used Sharon. That will establish crescendo episodes that glide toward a climax where Sharon is completely cleared.
Fans will watch to see what support Adam provides when that happens and if she wants a revival with him on Y&R.
