Fans are equally as excited to see Vilasuso on their soapy screens, something they haven’t gotten to see since Rey Rosales was killed off in 2022.

Viewers were shocked, but Jordi tells SOD that he was just as surprised that the soap decided to get rid of the police detective.

He notes, “I had just signed on for another three years, but in retrospect, I should have read the writing on the wall, because once you’re the only one of a (soap) family left, your days are numbered.”

Jordi goes on to say, “I really enjoyed some of the stories I got to tell, but it’s a gig and you’ve got to take those blows and then move onward and upward. Fortunately, I have a great agent and reps who still believe in me.”

Not to mention a fan base that adores him and still misses him! Jordi recounts a recent encounter with a fan at Hobby Lobby, where he was recognized.

He tells SOD that the lady was “very upset” that Rey was gone and “near tears”. It was a very bittersweet moment for him.
