TLC Fans Wonder Why Tammy Slaton Seems To Be Regressing

1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton used to be sulky, aggressive, angry, and unpleasant. But as she shed her weight, she seemed to gain a sweet persona. However, some TLC fans now worry that she seems to be regressing. What’s going on? Read on to find out more.

Tammy Slaton Was Very Unpleasant

In the early seasons of the TLC show, Amy Slaton got a lot of praise because she patiently looked after her larger-than-life sister. And, her efforts won her no love from her enormous sister. Actually, TLC fans and Amy found it hard to watch Tammy as she seemed determined to embark on a slow suicide.

Tammy Slaton finally got a big scare when she nearly died. That came when her body was so large that her own weight prevented her from exhaling the toxins in her lungs. Soon after that, she ditched vaping and drinking and went into rehab. By now, all the 1000-Lb Sisters fans know that she was successful and shed a massive amount of weight.

Tammy Slaton Is Regressing?

Recently, 1000-Lb Sisters showed Tammy and Chris Combs visiting a surgeon about her skin removal surgery. When the TLC star was told it was too soon, she sulked, stopped talking, and went into her famous old uncooperative mode. But, that’s not the regression that TLC fans are talking about now. 

Tammy Slaton definitely seemed like a sweeter personality after she dumped over 500 lbs of weight. These days, she’s a far cry from the bullying, self-absorbed, self-pitying aggressive sister she used to be. But some fans noticed that she seems to have gone too far the other way. Sweet is fine, but coming across as a sweet little girl bothers them. 

TLC Fans Discuss The Regression

On Reddit, 1000-Lb Sisters fan u/Love-Joy-Hope noticed that Tammy Slaton acts as if she is a little girl these days. In part, they wrote:

It seems like before her surgery she had a very strong personality. Obviously rude and stubborn but had a stronger voice and presence as far as her personality. I know she’s trying to be a more mindful person but when she speaks she seems weak and infant like…she just seems permanently more fragile and shrinking violet like verses her more boisterous self

Other fans had picked up on the same thing, and they discussed the reason why they thought that happened. Here are some of their ideas:

• She does say she’s trying to find her what suits her as far as fashion.. maybe it’s the same with her personality. She’s not sure who she is.. so she keeps changing till she finds something she likes??
• Her baby voice drives me nuts maybe it’s trauma defense coping mechanism[?]
• It could also be based in insecurity (she feels it is “cute”), or because she wants to continue to be looked after like a child (similar to prior to weight loss).
• She…changes her voice to fit the situation from her regular tone to that of a child, very high pitched and will pout like a child. It’s really unsettling. IMO, she needs extensive therapy.
