Popular Thor star Chris Hemsworth is out and about on the Balearic Island of Mallorca in Spain in August 2024.

Hemsworth is reportedly shooting a new reality show on the island this month, which is the latest in a long line of high-profile productions using Mallorca as their film set.

Spain’s beautiful Balearic Islands are a popular location for the TV and film industry, as well as commercials. It is believed that more than 100 productions are filmed on the islands each year.

Meanwhile, the list includes Francesca Joseph’s Four Last Songs featuring Stanley Tucci and Igor Fioravanti’s Ibiza Dream. Moreover, Tom Hanks and Halle Berry’s major Hollywood movie, Cloud Atlas was filmed on the Spanish islands.

With the island’s beautiful landscapes and idyllic beaches, along with a growing reputation as being film-friendly, Mallorca is set to continue being used in TV shows and movies.

Chris Hemsworth’s connection to Spain

Besides being an ideal film set, Chris Hemsworth also has a close connection to Spain as he is married to Spanish actress, Elsa Pataky. Elsa was born in Spain’s capital, Madrid and studied journalism at the Universidad de San Pablo.

Meanwhile, her role in the Spanish TV series, Al Salir de Clase was her introduction to the entertainment industry. Currently, no further details are available about the new reality show and whether Pataky will also appear.

Other celebrity stories in the Balearic Islands

Meanwhile, the Balearic Island of Ibiza also has celebrity news, as Zac Efron was recently in hospital after a pool incident on the island. He was discharged from a hospital on the island on August 4 and is now “happy and healthy.”

According to a spokesperson for Efron, he was involved in a “minor swimming incident” at the villa where the actor was staying. According to courses, Zac, 36, was “found inside the swimming pool by two people working at the villa,” who “pulled him out of the water.”

While no more detail was revealed about the incident, Efron took to Instagram after his hospital discharge. He posted an image of himself lifting barbells while on an exercise ball. Moreover, he captioned the post, writing:

Happy and healthy, thanks for the well wishes.

Reportedly, Efron has been seen traveling across Europe this summer, including partaking in the Ibiza party culture while on stage at Ushuaia with iconic DJ Martin Barrix. It seems he was on vacation after filming the Netflix rom-com, A Family Affair, with Nicole Kidman.
