The Royal Family’s Birthday Message To Prince Harry And What It Means Moving Forward

The Royal Family's Birthday Message To Prince Harry And What It Means Moving ForwardIt’s been a while since Prince Harry received a public birthday message from official accounts managed by the Royal Family. However, his 40th birthday was a milestone birthday that the King and Queen’s official Twitter channel and the Prince and Princess of Wales‘ publicly acknowledged.

While the message was very formal and addressed him as the Duke of Sussex, rather than Prince Harry, a royal expert believes the message counts as something.

Prince Harry “Would Have Been Pleased” With Birthday Messages From His Father and Brother

Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday on September 15, and while he didn’t go all out to throw a birthday bash for himself, the Royal Family recognized the milestone birthday with a social media shout-out.

Even though it was formal, Jennie Bond opined that he would have been pleased.

“I think he would have been pleased…and maybe, just maybe, he picked up the phone to call his father in response. Or maybe the King contacted him with a more personal birthday greeting than the formal wishes on social media,” Bond told OK! during a recent interview.

However, she added: “I still think things are too sensitive for a meaningful reconciliation with William, but the fact that he and Catherine authorised the greeting to be posted is definitely an unexpected turn of events. I don’t think we should hold our breath for the step to really signal the start of a reconciliation, but it was an unexpected turn of events.”

Prince William Doing Some “Re-evaluation” Regarding His Rift With Brother Harry

I guess four years is a long time to hold a grudge, even though Harry has carried on an almost relentless crusade against the Royal Family during that time. Still, time changes all things and Bond believes William’s stance on Harry had somewhat softened.

She said, “My gut feeling is that Catherine has been influential in this slight softening of her husband‘s implacable stand against Harry.”

She added, “In the moving film she made about the end of her chemotherapy treatment, she spoke about how cancer had given her a new perspective.

What clearly matters to her more than anything now is family, and loving and being loved. Perhaps she has persuaded William that life is too short to bear grudges forever.”
