Survivor has announced the new cast for the CBS series’ upcoming forty-sixth season. The competition series that has been on the air for more than two decades will welcome 18 new contestants to battle it out for the big $1 million dollar prize.
Survivor Season 46 Premiere Date Details
The new season is set to premiere on February 28th at 8 pm/et on CBS. The premiere and second episode of the reality staple will be a total of 2 hours with the remainder of the season featuring 90-minute episodes.
Jeff Probst will return as host with filming taking place on Mamanuca Islands in Fiji, a familiar place for Survivor fans as past season have been filmed in this same location. As usual, the 18 contestants will break into three teams. The teams will then work together to build shelter, find food and water together while trying to battle it out as the lone survivor.
Season 46 Contestants Revealed
In the upcoming season, a mix of new characters from diverse backgrounds will join the Survivor universe.
The youngest contestant set to compete is just 22 years old. David Jelinsky is a slot machine salesman from Nevada while the oldest contestant is a 48-year-old Maria Shrime Gonzalez who is a parent coach from Dallas, Texas.
The other contestants set to compete are a real estate agent, artist, program coordinator, actor, law student and software engineer.
Host Jeff Probst promises this new collection of contestants will be interesting to watch when the CBS series returns.
Probst spoke at the close of season 45 and shared that he was already excited for the new season. Probst promised that the season 46 contestants were a colorful crew who are sure to entertain.
“The cast of season 46 is a really unusual collection of smart, funny, eclectic humans,” Probst shared back in December when discussing the upcoming season.
“You’re going to love so many of them. You’ll feel it in the opening moments of day one when we first meet everyone. There is a sense of humor and sense of fun that is going to make this group really entertaining to watch.”
