Sister Wives Spoilers: Did Meri Brown Force Kody Brown Into A Polygamous Lifestyle?

Sister Wives spoilers reveal that Kody Brown is letting it all out when it comes to his marriage to Meri Brown. During the Sister Wives special, Sister Wives Look Back, Kody opened up more about his first marriage. He pointed out that Meri was actually the one who forced him into a polygamy. The First Marriage Drama

When Meri and Kody got married, he thought that she was the one and only for him. They tied the knot in 1990 and they did have a lot of issues at first, according to Meri.

She mentioned that Kody felt that if he had multiple wives, their marital issues would be solved. This wasn’t at all what happened though.

Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown joined the marriage and Kody was happy with the plural marriage life that he had thrown himself and his wives into.

However, he did ask Meri to legally divorce him so he could legally marry Robyn. This would guarantee him a chance to legally adopt her children from her previous marriage.

With every wife that joined his polygamous marriage, more issues began to come up and Kody didn’t seem to ever want to deal with them.

Kody Brown Explains Marriage Issues With Meri Brown

As Kody spoke about his marriage with Meri, he opened up to the cameras. He said, “Meri beat the love out of me over our first year of marriage. From the beginning, Meri and I had a lot of problems. I couldn’t fix them. I didn’t know what to do.”

Kody really had no idea how to fix all of the couple’s issues and when Meri was catfished and it became public, that seemed to be the downfall in their marriage.

When Kody explained to the cameras that polygamy was her idea, she was a little taken aback.

However, she did mention that she brought it up since it was a huge part of their religion and it could have helped him to focus more on how he acted toward her and possibly fix their issues.

In the end, she says that he changed so much that she didn’t like being married to him.

It is clear that Meri and Kody’s issues were never fully resolved and now they have both moved on in their lives to hopefully find a better path for them in the future.
