See Sweet Message Meghan Markle Sent Kelly Clarkson Via “Suits” Co-star

Meghan Markle is all sweetness when it comes to the “Stronger” hitmaker and talkshow host. In fact, she’s been a fan since her American Idol days.

Abigail Spencer Tells Kelly Clarkson Meghan Markle Left Her A Sweet Message

Abigail Spencer appeared on the Monday, February 26, episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show with a message from the Duchess of Sussex.

“Meg says hello and that she loves you, and that she voted for you on American Idol,” Spencer told host Clarkson, who was touched by the message.

Fans might remember that the star, 41, rose to fame after winning the 2002 season of “American Idol.” She replied: “Hello, Meg! It worked! Thank you. … Aww, I love that.”

Spencer made the appearance alongside Donald Faison, where they discussed their new NBC sitcom “Extended Family.” As they talked about the show, Spencer couldn’t help sneaking in her message from the 42-year-old former actress.

“She was just having dinner with Michael Bublé and he said you are the greatest singer on earth,” Spencer said. “But this is unsolicited, she did not know that I was coming on here and we were just chatting. I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to see Kelly next week.’ She was like, ‘I have a message.’”

Spencer has been friends with Meghan for years, even attending her 2018 wedding and her baby shower the following year.

“It was 2007 and I was doing a pilot for NBC and I went to read with the people who were supposed to play my best friends, so they were testing other actresses and I walked in [and saw] this beautiful creature at the end of the table and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’” Spencer added on Monday. “We immediately had a connection and then we learned that we had the same birthday, so same day [and] same year, so it was just something between us.”

Meghan and Spencer appeared on “Suits” for seven seasons, before she exited it to marry Britain’s Prince Harry. In 2019, the show officially ended, but the two women have remained friends since.
