It’s been over a year since Prince Harry released ‘Spare’ and yet criticisms keep pouring in. The latest one is from the son of musician John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
You might want to sit down for this one.
Sean Lennon Shares “Long-awaited’ Review of Prince Harry’s Memoir “Spare”
After reading the 39-year-old Prince’s memoir ‘Spare,’ Sean, 48, took to social media to share his opinion on it.
His review was short, direct, and had all the makings of a great snide remark. His words? “My long awaited review of Prince Harry’s autobiography is two words. ‘Spare Me.'”
Sean Lennon – Responds To Backlash Regarding His ‘Spare’ Review
This of course sparked some backlash, which saw Harry’s fans lash out at him, telling him that he shouldn’t judge someone he’s never met and the other sorts.
To this, Sean clarified, “Actually I am aware [that we have things in common]. We met once. That was before I realized he was an idiot.”
When the backlash continued, Sean returned to say his comments were made in good spirit, writing, “It was a pun. But he deserves to be mocked after that todger episode. He’ll be fine.”
The todger episode in question was Harry bringing fans into his confidence by revealing that he had problems with his todger around the time Prince William was set to marry Princess Kate. In his account, he remembered rubbing his mother’s favorite lip cream on the frostbitten penis.
Of course this all led to one big laugh at the time ‘Spare’ dropped, so Sean is a little bit late to the joke.
Nevertheless, he remained steadfast in his criticisms despite the backlash from some royal fans
“That is very sad. I don’t hold any of that against him. It’s the stupidity that bothers me.” The musician further elaborated, “Just because I made a joke does not mean I don’t empathize with him. I do actually. Also why I’m very disappointed with his outlook. I was hoping he’d be smarter.”
If you’re hoping Sean would repent of his criticisms, give up.
Doubling down on what he said earlier, the Oscar-winning artist wrote, “I do empathize with him generally. But the way he whines and wangs on about things is really too much. I’m just having a little fun. I think he’s earned some mockery. (I’m sure I have as well).”
You’ve got to give it to Sean, he’s one steadfast soul.
