Since the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis in January, her public appearances have been few and far between.
In fact, since then we’ve only had two public appearances; at the King’s birthday parade in June and to present the trophy at Wimbledon’s final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovick.
Happily, sources are saying that Kate’s recovery has been fantastic and that she is expected to return to public-facing duties soon.
This summer is all about family time for the Waleses, soaking up the sun at Balmoral, watching the kids play all sorts of games, fishing, and enjoying other fun activities with close family.
However, after this blissful vacation comes to a close, royal biographer Phil Dampier is convinced the Princess will return to work.
Mr Dampier said: “It’s very good sign that we’ve seen Kate twice in recent weeks, first of all at Trooping the Colour and then at Wimbledon so clearly she’s a lot better. It indicates that she is clearly on the mend, and hopefully she’ll be back in action in a month or so, in the autumn.”
He continued: “You know we can expect to see her start to gradually, slowly do some public engagements, but, as I said earlier, it will totally depend on the on the medical advice.”
Weighing in on Prince William’s initial reaction to the diagnosis, Dampier said, “I’m sure William was very shocked when when Kate was first diagnosed with cancer, because anyone of that age to be diagnosed it’s clearly a tremendous shock and a great worry.”
If royal fans can remember, William shockingly pulled out of the memorial for the late King Constantine of Greece, and Dampier believes it might have been the day he received the news.
As the Olympics drew to a close, William and Kate surprised the world by making a video message congratulating team GB.
As always, the Princess wore a smile on her face, just as she did when she officially announced her cancer diagnosis to the world.
Speaking on the strength of her mind and will, Dampier said: “I think Kate has has got a sort of inner core of steel. She’s quite a sort of steely character, and I think she’s a bit reminds me a little bit of late, Prince Philip.”
“I think she’s got a sort of inner strength and I think she’s very much pulled on those reserves and I think that of the two she’s probably the stronger character, even though she’s the one who’s got the got the illness, in many ways she will be the stronger of the two in getting through it, and mainly, of course, she wants to be strong for her children.”
Dampier concluded: “She wants them to know that she’s going to be okay and I’m sure that’s on her mind, if she’s strong enough to cope with it, then that will spread to William, and indeed to the children.”
