Real Reason Prince Harry Skipped Childhood Pal Hugh Grosvenor’s Wedding Revealed

While the Duke of Westminster Hugh Grosvenor, aka the guy who “owns half of London,” would love Prince William and Prince Harry to heal their rift, he doesn’t believe his wedding is the best place to do it.

So instead of any drama overshadowing what should be a very beautiful day for him and his beautiful bride, and of course for family members and well-wishers, there was a vote for Harry to sit it out.

On Friday, June 7, the society wedding of the year that fans have been anticipating for a long time finally came to fruition. One of Britain’s most eligible bachelors got married to Olivia Henson.

At first it was suggested Harry didn’t want to attend because his brother was given an important role for the wedding and he wasn’t, but a new source has shed further light on Harry’s decision to “sit this one out.”

When Harry left the Royal Family, he didn’t only ruffle the feathers of his family members, but he reportedly lost contact with most of his pals.

Hugh Grosvenor and Olivia Henson’s society wedding is likely the place where such old acquaintances are bound to be, making it “difficult” for Harry to honor his invitation.

A source close to the Sussexes told People magazine: “There was an acknowledgement on both sides that it would be difficult for Harry to attend.”

So the decision for Harry not to attend came as a mutual agreement. “It was an understanding between the two friends,” the source confirmed.

“The decision certainly avoided the inevitable clamour had estranged brothers Prince William and Prince Harry both attended the nuptials, eliminating the possibility of the big day being overshadowed for the couple.”

Apart from owning 2,000 buildings around the world, the property mogul is also the godfather to Prince George, 10, and his cousin Archie, 5.
