Queen Camilla barely touched ground in the UK following a successful tour of Australia and Samoa when she took ill.

It was revealed that the elderly royal was suffering from a chest infection, and after some time away from the spotlight, conspiracy theories started spilling.

However, Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles has a more simpler and direct response to the reason she chose to spend time away from the spotlight.

Tom Parker Bowles Gives Queen Camilla Health Update, Saying There’s “No Great Conspiracy Theory”

To whom it may concern, Queen Camilla is just tired from working too hard and there’s nothing cryptic or weird about her desire to take a break from public-facing duties.

Tom Parker Bowles, who is a food critic, writer, and the son of Queen Camilla, appeared on The Go To Food Podcast in an episode uploaded on Sunday, Dec. 8. During their hour-long convo, he and host Freddy Clode took some time to talk about his mother’s health.

“Most pressingly, how is your ma doing? Because she was a bit under the weather. Is she going to be in full recovery mode for silly season?” the host asked.

To this, Parker Bowles replied, “I think so, I think, yeah, these things go around … these bugs.” The 49-year-old also casually waved aside all the “great conspiracy theories,” adding, “I think … she did the [Australia] tour and she caught some kind of awful bug and then before she was well again, [she] worked too hard as she’s one to do.”

“She’s going to be able to enjoy the run into Christmas,” Clode interjected, with Parker Bowles agreeing, “She’s tough.”

Just over a month ago, Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Camilla, 77, had a chest infection.

Later on, fans would learn that the condition was actually a type of pneumonia, and that Camilla was recovering remarkably, even though she does continue to suffer episodic symptoms from post-viral fatigue.

On Dec. 5 during her appearance at a London reception commemorating the 50th anniversary of the charity Women’s Aid, she revealed to Daily Mail that she’s making much progress in her recovery, even though she still gets “a bit tired” from time to time.
