Queen Camilla’s Hilarious Joke After Receiving Her Very Own Barbie Doll

Queen Camilla's Hilarious Joke After Receiving Her Very Own Barbie DollBarbie celebrated international women’s day by gifting women who are setting standards and breaking barriers lookalike dolls.

One of the receivers of this symbolic gift was Australian superstar Kylie Minogue and another was Queen Camilla, who despite all the odds stacked against her, carved a beautiful path for herself in her role within the monarchy.

Queen Camilla Receives Lookalike Barbie Doll In Recognition of Her Work With the Women Of The World

The Queen hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace on International Women’s Day, where she received a doll made to look like her.

For the occasion, she wore matching outfits with the lookalike doll she was presented with in recognition of her work supporting the Women Of The World (WOW) Foundation as its president.

The doll wore her hair the same bouncy, shoulder-length style as Camilla’s, with a WOW Global brooch fitted to her outfit.

When she received the Barbie doll, Her Majesty was overtaken with excitement, and exclaimed that the designers had somehow “taken about 50 years off her life.”

Upon receiving the doll, Camilla said: “Thank you very very much indeed. It’s brilliant and they’ve taken about 50 years off my life. I’m very very grateful. Thank you very much for doing that, it’s wonderful.”

She then remarked that those present at the occasion “should all have a Barbie.”

Camilla stunned at the event in a flowing Fiona Clare vibrant blue dress with a zip-down neck and a black Amanda Wakeley cape.

The director of WOW, Jude Kelly, who founded the organization in 2008, was also among those in attendance at the reception.

At the event, the royal was joined by actress Dame Helen Mirren, who spoke to the school children.

The WOW foundation “exists to build, convene and sustain a global movement that believes a gender equal world is desirable, possible and urgently required.”

Queen Camilla Refers To the Suffragette Movement In Moving Speech

Camilla delivered a speech at the engagement, where she recalled the two stones that were thrown at Buckingham Palace in May 1914 during a Suffragette protest and are now on display in the palace.

She said: “Your achievements and your courage are great causes for celebration. As I have followed the progress of the WOW bus across all four corners of the country, I have been enormously impressed to hear of the mentorship that has been offered, the panel discussions that have challenged and strengthened those present, and the partnerships that have been forged with organisations that are, year round, doing incredible work with young people.”

“So I want to say, quite simply – well done and thank you. And, as we look to the future, let us recall these words of Christabel Pankhurst: ‘Remember the dignity of your womanhood. Do not appeal, do not beg, do not grovel. Take courage, join hands, stand besides us, fight with us.’”

She concluded: “To which I would only add: Let your lives be the stones that will shatter glass ceilings everywhere and inspire generations to come.”
