This year has not been a very happy one for Prince William and his family. The trials began as early as January when it was announced that King Charles and Princess Kate would be undergoing surgery at the same London clinic.
At the time, reports revealed that King Charles would be undergoing surgery for prostate, and that the Princess of Wales will be in for a planned abdominal surgery.
However, things took a turn when doctors discovered cancerous cells in their bodies, and they both had to undergo chemotherapy. Happily, Kate has completed her chemotherapy treatments and the King is said to be getting stronger everyday, but you can imagine how this double cancer diagnosis could take a toll on anyone.
Prince William – Admits The Year Hasn’t Been Too Kind On Him In New Interview
This year saw Prince William attend his fourth annual Earthshot Prize in Cape Town solo. During the four-day visit, the Prince took part in many activities and got to enjoy beautiful South African cultures and sceneries.
On the fourth day, William candidly told reporters that this year has been “the hardest year in my life.”
He said: “So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult. But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah, it’s been brutal.”
Apart from the beard, which we learned will be staying for a while, fans couldn’t help but notice his new lean appearance. However, many offered many positive words, thoughts and prayers for the Wales family.
Princess Kate – To Join Royal Family On Remembrance Sunday Outing

For one thing, Kate is determined to host her annual Christmas concert. And oh, she’s so far recovered enough to start joining other members of the Royal Family on future outings, starting with this week’s Remembrance Sunday.
