Prince Harry’s Polo Docuseries Will Share Behind-the-scenes Look At the Fast-paced World of Polo
Polo is a sport where players on horses are required to use long-handled mallets to propel the ball along the ground and into their opponent’s goal. It’s long been a social sport, becoming one that the Royal Family is often associated with – that and equestrian.
Harry was introduced to the sport from a young age, and to this day, he still continues to play it competitively for charities. The sport united him with one of his bestfriends, Australian polo player Nachos.
Netflix shared the news alongside four pictures of three polo players on horsebacks overlooking a pitch. Two of the athletes are wielding a mallet and vieing for the ball.
“POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport,” Netflix said in a statement shared to X. “From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures. Premiering this December.”
After decades of playing polo, Harry is now ready to take fans into the depths of the sport. The show was announced in April, along with the promise that the cameras will give “viewers an unprecedented access to the world of professional polo.”
Most of the shoot is said to have taken place at the US Open Polo Championship in Florida.
The statement further read: “Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level.”
Apart from Harry’s polo series, Meghan was also reported to be working on a cooking show for Netflix. It will see the Duchess cook, clean, and entertain guests.
