Prince Harry’s Gift Son Archie Destroyed

The Sussexes may not be spending Christmas with the rest of the Royal Family, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not observing some of their family traditions.

One of them includes the tradition of giving silly gifts instead of expensive ones, and in 2020, Meghan Markle gave Prince Harry one that was a definite winner. Here’s a look inside the small family’s quiet Christmas in the US.

All the controversies going on can sometimes distract from the fact that Harry and Meghan have their own little children and they are making wonderful memories every day.

The holidays are an especially memorable time, and Harry’s got one memory he’s sure to never forget. In fact, the Christmas incident is so well-stamped in his memory he decided to devote pages on ‘Spare’ to recount it.

Writing that Meghan has continued to observe “the Windsor Family tradition,” even after stepping away from their roles as senior royals, Harry revealed that she got him a “little Christmas ornament of…the Queen!”

Upon unveiling the present, he couldn’t stop himself from roaring “What the—?”
“Meg had spotted it in a local store and thought I might like it. I held it to the light. It was Granny’s face to a T,” Harry continued. “I hung it on an eye-level branch. It made me happy to see her there. It made Meg and me smile.”

As fate would have it, the joy didn’t last very long because curious little hands got to it. “Archie, playing around the tree, jostled the stand, shook the tree, and Granny fell,” Harry, 40, continued to write. “I heard a smash and turned. Pieces lay all over the floor.”

Archie may have broken it, but can we give him points for also trying to fix it? “Archie ran and grabbed a spray bottle,” Harry revealed of the then 18-month-old’s reaction to the incident. “For some reason he thought spraying water on the broken pieces would fix it.”

Meghan, realizing what was happening, then yelled, “No, Archie, no—do not spray Gan-Gan!”
As Harry swept the pieces into a dustpan, he recalled thinking, “This is weird.”

For what will be the sixth time in a row, the Sussexes would probably be spending another quiet Christmas at home after being snubbed an invitation to Sandringham.

It will especially be hard on Harry, as Christmas at Sandringham is among some of his fondest memories growing up, and he would no doubt want to pass the joys of a big family Christmas onto his kids.
