For those who think Prince Harry is keeping the door open so that he may come back one day and become part of the royal fold again, well, he’s just shut it. And royal experts believe it means a lot for both him and the United Kingdom as its Prince.

Prince Harry may have packed his bags and moved four years ago, but he’s just now saying his proper goodbyes. And how did he do it? He changed his formal residential status from the UK to the US in paperwork relating to his sustainable travel initiative, Travalyst.

In a recent interview on GMA, the Prince had shared his hopes of returning to the UK. But he seems to have decided to do a complete u-turn in light of the release of his new Netflix projects.

In an exclusive chat with The Mirror, PR expert Ryan McCormick reflected on Harry’s decision, saying, “Harry renouncing his British residency in favour of the US effectively crushes the hopes of anyone expecting the prodigal son to return.”

The PR expert added: “Psychologically, it must be hard on those who view Harry as a symbol of Britain itself being of origin from the Royal Family.”

This comes as Harry gets ready to release his new Netflix project that will give viewers “unprecedented access to the world of professional polo” and will “pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport.”

Touching on the project, Ryan said: “For now, Harry may feel welcome in the US. However, that could change if his upcoming projects aren’t successful or his popularity wanes.”

The Sussexes have decided to move away from marketing their brand on the backs of the Royal Family.

Harry is in the midst of pulling the curtains back on polo, a sport he grew up playing. He will document what it means to compete at the highest level of the sport.

Meghan Markle, on the other hand, has already launched her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and is working to grow it. Recently, she sent its first badge of products to friends.
