Prince Harry To Receive More Security During Upcoming New York Trip For This Reason

Prince Harry is probably already preparing his trip to New York later this month, and during the visit he will be receiving heightened security from the NYPD.

This will mark the first time Harry has publicly returned to the city after he and his wife alleged high speed chase by paparazzi last year.

New York Police Department Reveals Security Plans In Place For Prince Harry’s Visit To New York

According to a statement by the NYPD, Harry is to receive taxpayer funded police protection when he visits New York City to promote several charities.

This is to ensure that the “reckless” action by the paparazzi, which happened during their last publicized visit, do not repeat again, even though Harry and Meghan never actually filed any charges.

In a short note to London’s Metropolitan Police, the NYPD Intelligence chief wrote that NYPD will be “enhancing the security resources afforded to the Duke and Duchess on future visits to the city.”

Harry will be in the city for the UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week. Climate Week is set to run from September 22 to September 29, meaning that Harry will be spending several days in the city.

This is coming after Harry flew back to the UK briefly to attend the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes. The event marked the first time that he was in the same room with older brother, Prince William, though the two did not engage in any form of conversation.

This more than perfectly highlighted the current state of Harry and William’s rift, with many suggesting that the damage has been done and that the Prince of Wales may never forgive his younger brother.

Speaking of the frosty relationship, William speedily put a stop to rumors claiming that he will reunite with Harry during the latter’s New York trip. You see, on September 24, an Earthshot Innovation Summit will take place in New York.

However, according to an insider, William had never planned to go to this year’s event, so the decision not to attend does not have anything to do with Harry’s presence in the city. William will likely be sending a video message.
