There’s been a lot of ups and downs between the Royal Family and the Sussexes in recent years, but Charles and Harry are reportedly looking forward to putting the water under the bridge and rebuilding their relationship. According to a royal expert, Meghan Markle will not be part of the peace talks.
Meghan Markle’s Presence Would Reportedly Overshadow Invictus Games Anniversary Celebration
This May, Prince Harry will head back to the UK to celebrate ten years of Invictus Games. His role is especially important since he will be required to give a speech at the service.
Meghan Markle has been pencilled in as TBC, but an expert has revealed that it’s unlikely she’ll make the event due to the negative press she would attract.
In a recent chat with The Sun Online, Ruchard Fitzwilliams said: “I never thought that Meghan would come over because of the hostility towards her here, but one has to emphasize that it’s obvious from the opinion polls.”
He went on to claim that the negative press is directly related to all the drama she’s stirred in recent years. “And of course, you’d get a press that was far from flattering, but that is linked to the Sussexes behaviour over the last four years.”
He added: “It may not be definite that she isn’t coming, but it’s most unlikely. Meghan’s reception would overshadow the message of the service, and you wouldn’t want that.”
While Meghan has joined Harry for other Invictus Games events, for example Toronto, Sydney, The Hague and Dusseldorf – and the one-year-out launch party for Vancouver.
There’s also that time they traveled to Canada to mark the countdown of Invictus Games’ winter games. She, however, hasn’t joined him in the UK since attending the Queen’s funeral in 2022.
Speaking of the drama Meghan has stirred, she and her husband have heaped different accusations on the Royal Family, including racism – later “unconscious bias” – negligence, among many others.
