As many of us saw, Megxit, and even the Oprah tell-all interview, was not the breaking point of Harry and William’s relationship.
It was the continued accusations and complaining that Harry would go on to do that eventually forced William to cut off all communications.
But with Harry having relented from publicly lashing out at his family, is there a chance for reconciliation on the horizon?

This year has seen Harry and Meghan mostly withdraw from the royal bashing – that is, apart from their chum Omid Scobie naming the alleged “royal racists.”
In all intents, the couple seem to have moved on, though one cannot ignore that Meghan launched her lifestyle brand on Instagram the same day William and Harry honored 2024’s recipients of the Princess Diana awards, or that she announced new offerings from the brand during this year’s Trooping the Colour, which saw Princess Kate make her first public appearance in months.
While these moves are obviously purposely timed to more or less coincide with royal activities, the couple are yet to publicly speak out about any old grievances against the Royal
Family this year. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams recently explained why during his recent chat with The Sun.
He said: “And of course two senior royals, the King and the Princess of Wales, are seriously ill. So you have a situation with a huge question mark in the future, and we have no knowledge or idea of how the Sussexes are going to respond in the future equally.”
He continued: “They can’t attack the Royal Family at this time. Obviously it would be highly insensitive. I think it’s abundantly clear that any rift is undesirable, and when individuals are ill who are involved in it, it makes it even more undesirable.”
When it comes to fixing their broken relationship, Fitzwilliams believes it’s up to Harry to make the first move.
