Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are suffering a mass exodus of staff, and their latest departure news shows a gaping hole in the Sussexes’ staff retention tactics.

Following the public departure of their chief of staff Josh Kettler, which they rushed to downplay as a mutual thing, it’s been revealed that Christine Weil Schirmer quietly left the couple’s team a while back. Here are the details.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Former Employee Hints Sussexes Aren’t Good Bosses

In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hired Christine Weil Schirmer as Archewell’s head of communications.

Hailed as the golden goose at the time due to her experience working for Apple and Pinterest, Schirmer was expected to grow Archewell’s image. That is, until she quietly exited the Sussexes’ team late last year.

This detail emerged on the heel of Josh Kettler’s surprise departure a mere three months into the job.

Speaking out following Josh’s departure, a former employee told the Mirror: “What may be most telling is that the entire time I worked there, I don’t think I heard a single current or former employee on their staff say they would take the job again if given the chance.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “the Toughest of Taskmasters”

When it comes to why the Sussexes are constantly losing staff members, sources say it comes down to the way they treat people in their employ.

A source told Closer: “The brutal reality is Harry and Meghan are the toughest of taskmasters, they are very demanding and difficult to work for, and that puts a lot of people’s backs up.”

This obviously affects the couple’s image and limits the caliber of people they can be able to add to their team going forward, according to royal expert Kinsey Schofield.

Schofield said: “I do think that they’re going to continue to have a hard time finding people that want to work underneath them. I’m intimidated just thinking about it. A source also told Closer magazine that Harry and Meghan are ‘pretty tough’.”
