Prince Andrew’s Public Activities Narrow Now That He Is Stuck In “Crumbling” Royal Lodge

No more garden parties, grand balls, and the likes for Prince Andrew. According to a royal expert, he’s basically living in exile, cut off from many of the things he once enjoyed.

And what’s worse? He could now barely maintain the 30-room royal lodge he refuses to leave despite the royal property coming with a hefty annual maintenance fee.

These days, Prince Andrew gets criticized for riding a horse, so you can imagine the least thing the Duke of York, 64, would want is to be in the spotlight.

In an interview with Fabulous, the editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine opined that the disgraced Prince’s world is now very narrow.

She claimed: “The Duke of York is quite limited as to where he can go, because he obviously doesn’t want to be photographed and then subsequently criticised. So his world is very narrow.”

These days, he divides his time between Royal Lodge, where he lives with ex Sarah Ferguson, and Windsor Great Park, where he can relax and ride his horse without bumping into the public.

Ingrid added: “He does have things to do, but they’re very minimal. He does have a few friends, though many fewer than before. I think what he really lacks is a purpose.”

While Andrew still makes the occasional appearance with the rest of the Royal Family, he’s largely remained out of the public eye.

His last great moment in the spotlight was at Prince Philip’s memorial when he held his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth’s, hand, as they walked into the church.

However, he may be escaping his dreary lifestyle at Royal Lodge for a few weeks as Ingrid shared that he is likely to join King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate and their family, and other royals at Balmoral for their annual summer break.

“He loves Balmoral,” Ingrid said, adding, “He’s been there every other year, and I think he can find a bit of refuge there, away from cameras and prying eyes. It also gives him a chance to see members of the rest of his family.”
