Peacock Announces Limited Series The Good Daughter Starring Jessica Biel

Peacock has announced the limited series order of a psychological suspense thriller, The Good Daughter.

The movie stars, and is executive produced by Emmy Award-nominated actress, Jessica Biel, Moreover, the limited series is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Karin Slaughter.

The Good Daughter coming to Peacock

According to the official synopsis, the suspenseful crime drama sees sisters Charlotte (Jessica Biel, Candy, The Sinner) and Samantha Quinn. The sisters have spent the last 28 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence.

However, when another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene.

Now a lawyer like her father, Charlotte must confront her own demons, as the case twists through one shocking revelation after another. Ultimately, she and Samantha find themselves questioning if the price of being the good daughter was worth it after all.

The series is based on Karin Slaughter’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same title and hails from studio FIFTH SEASON with Emmy Award-winning producer Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories and Iron Ocean (The Sinner, Cruel Summer).

Meanwhile, Slaughter (Pieces of Her) is to write all episodes and executive produce the Peacock limited series. Other executive producers include Biel and Michelle Purple.

Readers may recall that Papandrea’s Made Up Stories previously produced the hit limited series, Pieces of Her is based on Slaughter’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. In that series, a woman pieces together her mother’s dark past after a violent attack in their small town brings hidden threats and deadly secrets to light.

About the star of The Good Daughter

According to Deadline, Jessica Biel received an Emmy nomination for The Sinner and is also set to star with Ethan Hawke and Daniel Radcliffe in Batso. This tells the true story of three trailblazing climbers who in the early 1970s, took on the most difficult route up the peak of El Capitan in Yosemite.

More recently, Biel starred in the true crime limited series on Hulu, Candy, playing the infamous ax killer, Candy Montgomery.
