The new Netflix mystery series stars Game of Thrones actor, Iain Glen and is based on an Agatha Christie novel.

 

Filming started on Monday, September 16 and will continue on Wednesday, September 18 on the new Netflix mystery series, Seven Dials. The series is based on the Agatha Christie novel, The Mystery of the Seven and stars Game of Thrones actor, Iain Glen. What makes the series even more exciting is that is also stars the iconic Puente Nuevo (New Bridge) in the hilltop town of Ronda, in Andalucía, Spain.

Ronda is located an hour’s drive inland from the Costa del Sol in southern Spain and this isn’t the first time the New Bridge has been a film set for Netflix. The series stars Iain Glen, who played Ser Jorah in Game of Thrones, Khaleesi’s paladin and bodyguard. Now, the Scottish actor is set to play the lead in Seven Dials.

Glen has also recently starred in the movie, The Last Front, set in World War I. Moreover, in October, he stars on the Disney platform in the comedy, Last Days of the Space Age. In addition, the Resident Evil actor plans to make his debut in Bollywood in the movie Tanvi the Great, under the direction of Anupam Kher.

Filming will also be carried out in various other locations in the beautiful mountain town, besides the iconic New Bridge, which spans the gorge between two separate parts of Ronda. The production company for Seven Dials, 72 Films, will film the series in other famous locations in the hilltop town.

Filming will be done around the Fuente de los Ocho Caños drinking fountain, the Arab Baths, the Duquesa de Parcent square, the Alameda del Tajo park and the town’s bullring. Moreover, there was recently a casting call in Ronda for a double of Iain Glen, along with other characters in Ronda.

According to Sur in English, residents and visitors to Ronda were warned by town councilor, Jorge Fernández, warned of traffic interruptions in the town for the filming. He also noted that the team of people involved in the filming will be 120.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that the Andalucían town has been used as a film set. Ronda has previously hosted the filming of other TV series, including Netflix’s Feria, HBO’s Dark Matter, the Prime Video thriller The Rig and more.
