Abi was in an accident that left him paralyzed. He has been bedridden for seven years and this caused him to gain a lot of weight. He also developed bed sores and lymphedema because he couldn’t get out of bed and do anything physical.

Dr. Now ended up going to Abi since he couldn’t get out of bed. This patient wasn’t like any of the others he had helped, but he knew that he could help him.

Dr. Now went to Austin, Texas to meet Abi and to see what kind of help he would need. Dr. Now decided to start Abi on a special diet. This diet would help him to lose a lot of weight even without being able to get up and exercise.

After being on the diet for about a month Abi ended up weighing 650 pounds. This was a great beginning to his weight loss journey and it also qualified him for bariatric surgery.

After his episode ended, Abi weighed in at 400 pounds and was determined to keep losing weight.
