Meryl Streep Will Return For Only Murders In The Building Season 4

Season 3 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building introduced Hollywood star, Meryl Streep to its cast and fans were thrilled. Her character, Loretta Durkin, is adorable and it looks like Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez agree. The hit Hulu comedy series is co-created and co-written by Martin and John Hoffman and Streep will return for season 4.

The Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building tells the story of three strangers living in an Upper West Side apartment building. The three characters are Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short) and Mabel (Gomez) who are all obsessed with true crime. When a grisly death happens in their exclusive apartment building, the trio suspects murder. Meanwhile, they employ their knowledge of true crime to not only investigate the truth, but also to launch a podcast.

Each season introduces a new grisly death for the trio to solve. Moreover, Streep joined the cast in season 3 and becomes Oliver’s love interest. She also features in Oliver’s musical comedy stage show Death Rattle Dazzle on Broadway, which is a total hoot. Readers can enjoy Martin in the clip from the show below.

What about season 4?

So far, producers are quiet about the storyline for season 4. However, Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich was interviewed by Deadline. He revealed that the three main characters, Charles, Oliver and Mabel, will kick off the new season with a trip to Los Angeles.

Fans will recall that Charles’ stunt double, Sazz (Jane Lynch) was killed in the final episode of season 3. Meanwhile, the trio will return to The Arconia after their trip to investigate Sazz’s murder and bring the killer to justice.

Meanwhile, the Emmy-nominated comedy, Only Murders in the Building remains Hulu’s most-watched Comedy Original ever. According to Hulu, the series was continually in its Top 15 and has also ranked on Nielsen’s Top 10 Original Series since it first launched. The series is executive produced by Martin, Hoffman, Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal for 20th Television.
