The Duchess of Sussex‘s wardrobe was a topic that was mostly focused on in her tour of Colombia. Rarely much was said about the country, its cultures, people and values. This has led fans to wonder whether Harry and Meghan really traveled to Colombia for the purpose of enlightening foreigners about the beauty of the country.
With the amount of security Harry and Meghan traveled with, it doesn’t do much to show anyone that the country is safe for tourism.
Before they decided to up and leave in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited a lot of places as representatives of the Royal Family.
At the time, they announced they would be stepping down from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family to have privacy, but a royal expert doesn’t quite buy into this claim.
Their recent tour of Colombia has been controversial, to say the least, and through the lens of many, largely unhelpful to the people of Colombia.
On this week’s The Sun Royal Exclusive show, broadcaster Robert Jobson compared Meghan’s royal tours to her faux royal ones.
He said: “She could have had all that anyways, I was down when she went to Tonga, Fiji and all these places in Australia, she had a very good press there, and there were lots of changing of outfits. And even in South Africa, they had a pretty reasonable tour, I think was bad in terms of the other things that were going on.”
He continued: “So what I don’t understand is, why? What is the point of saying you want privacy and doing things in a different way, and then just being all about you, rather than, you know, doing it to help your country and serve?”
Meghan might have mocked curtsying to the Queen on their Netflix docuseries – said Netflix docuseries was the reason Colombia’s Vice-president invited them over – but she’s not averse to receiving one. On her and Harry’s arrival to the country, the VP greeted them with a curtsy.
Touching on the controlled press the couple traveled with, Robert added: “The reality is they don’t like criticism. They give it out, but they can’t take it.”
