Meghan Markle Hasn’t Been Cast In SUITS Spinoff For This Reason

Suits is in its glory era thanks to Netflix, and, according to fans of the Duchess, Meghan Markle. Within a short period, the show has gained a massive audience and popularity on the streaming network, so much so that producers quickly greenlit a reboot of the show, despite the original running for 9 seasons.

Since news of the reboot, I’m sure we’ve gone through the motions of “will she reprise her role or won’t she” several times – the “she” in the phrase, of course, being Meghan Markle. In fact, it got to the extent that “sources” revealed she would be returning as a different character. I mean, no Rachel Zane? Thank you, next.

The reboot now has a name, with a pilot already ordered by NBCUniversal, but currently, there’s no confirmation that Meghan will be joining the show as a lead or even recurring character.

“Suits” Reboot Set To Return With All-New Characters And A Female Lead

Per a report by Deadline, “Suits: LA” – the working title of the “Suits” reboot – pilot will be directed by Victoria Mahoney.

While the original creators and script writers will be returning for this reboot, the original cast members won’t be showing up in the already greenlit pilot. Perhaps, every once in a while, we’ll get to catch a glimpse of them, but that would be all.

Though set in the same universe as “Suits,” the upcoming season will take place in a different city. Production will reportedly begin sometime in March in Vancouver.

“Suits” creator Aaron Korsh will serve as executive producer alongside original Eps David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein.

It’s a bit disappointing to know that the characters fans have cultivated a love for throughout the season will not be returning, but there’s always the chance they could swing by for a cameo or even a fully loaded multi-episode arc.

For now, you can binge the show on Netflix and Peacock and hope the production team work fast in giving us new episodes.
