Media Expert Says Meghan Markle’s Challenges Are Immense

The Hollywood Reporter’s article about Meghan Markle’s harsh and cruel treatment of staff is reportedly hitting her where it hurts the most and reportedly damaging her reputation beyond what any counter-narrative could repair.

The saga has continued on for days on end, with the Daily Beast and Us Weekly wading in on the conversation. While the exclusive Us Weekly article was meant to do some damage control, it has failed to turn the tide in favor of Meghan.

She may have chosen to wave aside the UK stories about her treatment of staff as a “calculated smear campaign,” but it’s proving tougher to disperse the bad clouds this time.

Speaking on this, Eric Schiffer, chair of Reputation Management Consultants, told Newsweek how utterly damaging the latest narrative has been to Meghan’s brand.

“Meghan’s challenges are immense because this now is a pattern of behavior outside of Britain that calls into question a level of horrible incompetence in leadership,” he said.

“She is now seen as the enemy of staffers who are fleeing because of the devastating environment. None of which is good for Meghan when she is still recovering from the reputational damage from across the pond,” he continued.

“These are current allegations. What it says is that she’s either painfully deluded about her own behavior or there’s a series of people who are choosing to lie to reporters which doesn’t seem to ring as true.”

Meghan’s clapback came in the form of staff members singing her praises and saying that they are treated like children and watered like seeds.

A staff said, “When I told them, I was met with the kind of concern and care a parent would express if it were their own child. I was asked what I needed, how and if they could help, and told to take as much time as I needed.” Wow, what flowery goodness, telling staff they could “take as much time as needed” to do the job you pay them to do.

Despite this pushback, Schiffer opined that “this scandalabra she’s facing is not just a smoking crater on her reputation but now begins to draw into question her judgement and her ability to control herself and her behavior.”
