King Charles Reacts To Prince Andrew Spy Scandal

Every day that goes by, new details emerge relating to the spy scandal involving one already disgraced royal in the name of Prince Andrew. Some reports say that he was so chum with the Chinese spy that he invited him to three palaces, while others believe that, once again, Andrew is being made the scapegoat.

Could Prince Andrew’s Latest Scandal Keep Him From Joining the Royal Family For Church On Christmas Day?

One of the highlights of the Royal Family’s Christmas calendar is attending church on Christmas morning, and getting to greet the gathered crowd after service.

And despite the shame of the past few years, Andrew has managed to be a part of it. Sadly, this year may finally see him actually sitting it out.

When reports initially surfaced that Andrew had befriended a Chinese spy, sources speculated that King Charles “could ban” him from joining the family on their annual Christmas Day outing. Turn that “could” to “has” and you may have touched closer to the truth.

A source said, “His Majesty’s patience is wearing thin. He has stood by Andrew for many years, but everyone has their limits. I can’t see the king wanting to walk to church with someone who was friends with a Chinese spy.”

Buckingham Palace declined to issue a comment on the reports, but another friend of the king said: “Andrew is finished. You would have thought it would be hard to find a way to make things worse but somehow he has managed it.”

It’s been confirmed that Prince Andrew won’t be joining the rest of the Royal Family for their annual Christmas break at Sandringham Palace. This is probably to mitigate the backlash that would occur otherwise.

Reports also claim Andrew brought the spy to visit Buckingham Palace twice, to Windsor Castle and St James’s Palace, and to his 60th birthday party.

The alleged spy was detained at an airport under counterterrorism powers in November 2021. Officers proceeded to seize his phone, where they found details of the nature of his relationship with Prince Andrew. He is said to be among Andrew’s top confidantes.

What Prince Andrew’s Friends Are Saying About the Scandal

Andrew’s friends, however, disagree with this narrative, saying that the pair didn’t share any particular fond relationship.

A source speaking to The Daily Beast said, “This guy clearly operated with impunity in the U.K. for years, meeting PMs. That’s not Andrew’s fault, it’s the security services.”

Another went as far as to claim that Andrew is being used as the fall guy again.
