King Charles Being Too Busy To See Son Prince Harry Further Deepened Their Rift

When Prince Harry first flew to the UK to see his father King Charles soon after his cancer diagnosis, experts were convinced that they’re well on their way to repairing their relationship.
However, with Harry’s latest visit to the UK and the King simply being too busy to meet him, it seems things have gone back to the way they’ve been in recent years, or even worse if you believe some accounts.

With all that’s gone on between them, how do the father-son duo move forward and heal from their tumultuous past?

It’s a shame that Harry should swing by to the UK for a while and still not be able to have a peek at his father, who though undergoing cancer treatments, seems to have so recovered as to even contemplate traveling soon.

After Harry landed in the UK, the Palace put out this statement to stop any and all rumors about the King and Harry meeting during the latter’s short UK visit.

“It, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon,” the statement read.

Well, if that isn’t a salt to Harry’s ego, then I don’t know what is. The Prince, who has formerly complained about his father not picking his calls, was reportedly not happy about the development.

Speaking on this issue, Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that “the depth of the rift with the Royal Family has, if anything, deepened after Harry’s recent visit.”

He noted that the utterly bizarre controversy that ensued over whether his father was indeed too busy to meet him must have hurt the positive image he and Meghan are now cultivating.

“If they are to thrive and not just survive they must avoid offending the Royal Family, their attacks have cost both them and the royals popularity and made them appear extremely destructive and also hypocritical over the issue of privacy,” he added.
