Katy Perry Roasted Over Dementia Patient Lawsuit

Katy Perry is worth hundreds of millions but former fans are roasting her now because she fights a disabled veteran who is now a dementia patient over the value of a home that she purchased. Disgusted music and American Idol fans ripped into her when the story emerged on social media recently. 

Katy Perry Upsets A Lot Of People These Days

Long gone is the cute young daughter of pastors who launched into the music scene with her Christian album single, “Search Me.” Rocketed to fame after her first effort failed, the future American Idol judge  never looked back after “I Kissed a Girl.” Well right now, you might have to look far and wide for someone who might want to kiss her. 

Katy Perry managed to upset environmentalists in August when she allegedly failed to get permission to film in a restricted area in the Ses Salines Natural Park, located between Ibiza and Formentera. For many critics, it smacked of entitlement. Meanwhile, others thought that she behaved arrogantly when she left American Idol. 

The Fight With The Dementia Patient 

InTouch Weekly carried a story about how a veteran named Carl with disabilities was on strong painkillers when the American Idol judge wanted to buy his home. He wanted $15 million, she proposed $13.5 million. However, she eventually accepted his price. But then, when he tried to back out of the deal, she refused. And the court backed her.  

The outlet explained that since then, the issue arose of damages that Katy Perry claims happened. Talking about the veteran who now lives in a home with dementia, the outlet cited Carl’s lawyer as saying:

Katy’s business manager has dramatically increased the amount they are seeking in damages. Initially, the lawsuit requested $2.67 million in damages for loss of use… [Katy Perry] now wants $3.5 million for loss of use…However, [Katy’s manager] recently added another $2 million in ordinary money damages…The purchase price that Katy Perry agreed to pay” was $15 million…Katy Perry [deposited ]…only $9 million.

So, in a nutshell, with increasing claims of damages against the veteran, the American Idol alum is accused of only wanting to pay “$9 million” instead of the original “$15 million.”

The Roasting Of The Singer

When the outlet shared the story on Instagram, people felt furious and they gave the singer a roasting. Here are some of their comments:

• No class or compassion!
• No compassion at all, can you get any lower.
• Wow she thinks she’s entitled because she’s a singer . No one should do this to anyone who has dementia, it belongs to their family. She needs to leave them alone.
• She is attacking an army veteran, she is despicable. She should leave Mr. Westcott in peace to spend his time with his family. She has a stalled career and American Idol doesn’t want her back.
