Katy Perry Lost A Lot Of Popularity, Why?

Katy Perry, formerly a judge on American Idol started losing popularity even before she released Woman’s World. The popular pop music star made millions off her songs and came to be known as the Queen of Camp.

Immensely successful, she started sliding down and these days, she seems to struggle with her new releases. Why is that? Read on to find out what fans think happened. 

Katy Perry Faces Some Problems

By the time the singer left American Idol, many people felt that she seemed arrogant and indifferent to her fans. So, when she released Woman’s World, she was slammed roundly, After all, it was a song that was meant to empower women, but one of the writers was Dr Luke, who was accused of abuse by Kesha. Anyway, Katy claimed it was “satire,” which many people thought was just an excuse.

More recently, Katy Perry ended up with more trouble on her plate. Reportedly, she made the video for Lifetimes in Ses Salines Natural Park, near I(biza. Allegedly, the filming hadn’t gotten authorization from environmental authorities. American Idol fans who heard about it seemed to think that not bothering with rules was just the sort of thing the music star would do. However, her popularity started going down even before these events. So, fans discussed it on social media.

What are the reasons that Katy Perry lost her popularity in a short period of time?

In the comments section, there were a lot of replies, and many of them were well-thought-out. Here are some opinions about Katy Perry’s decline:

• Because her best music (Teenage Dream) came out at the right moment, and then her music started becoming subpar at the same time trends were moving away from her style.
• There’s also that American clip where she slut shamed a young contestant for having several children. Katy Perry said something along the lines of “maybe if you spent less time on your back you’d be a better singer”.
• I’m surprised nobody said the main reason: her music was bad. Teenage Dream was incredible. The album after that was okay, and everything after that was completely forgettable.
• Basically. She was the artist of the moment at the perfect time. She was bubble pop personified at a time when it’s what everyone wanted. As far as I can tell she’s basically the same now as she was then but the moment is over.
• Her new song Woman’s World is so generic and forgettable. I read a review that stated the song is meant for no more than playing during a Pilates class.
