Julie Chrisley had her sentence vacated after submission of the oral arguments appeal to the 11th circuit. The finding meant that her sentence was miscalculated, and presumably, the Chrisley Knows Best alum will get some time removed.
Set for September 25 in Atlanta, the former USA Network star hoped to appear remotely. However, a federal judge turned down her request, per People.
Todd Chrisley had no luck when the appeal was heard. Unlike his wife, he will not get any resentencing or reduction on fraud and tax-related charges. Ahead of the resentencing, their daughter, Savannah Chrisley seems excited about the possibility that her mom might be home by Thanksgiving. However, it’s not set in stone yet.
Julie Chrisley seemed almost afraid of going home early, and her daughter related how she asked if she gets out early, if they can live together. Institutionalized already, it’s a big scary world outside of the Kentucky prison facility. Perhaps that was part of the reason why she wanted to appear remotely for her resentencing.
Alex Little who represents the Chrisley Knows Best couple during their appeal process explained that it’s a long trip from Kentucky to Atlanta, Georgia. Despite a remote appearance being possible, the federal judge turned down his request. So, it probably means a long trip while shackled to get to her appearance.
Julie Chrisley might end up make-up and botox-free in front of the media cameras. Her fans might hope that it is the last time she will be humiliated as an inmate. Plenty of them feel that there was a mistake made by the courts when they convicted Todd and his wife.
While there is some support for the couple, many people also sit on the fence about special treatment for the former celebrity. Additionally, many USA Network fans can’t agree about any reduction of sentence and special arrangements for Savannah’s mom.
On Reddit, one fan wrote:
Unpopular opinion but I hope she gets out that day. Savannah needs help raising those kids. Julie was a great mother in my opinion.
Conversely, another critic wrote, “Great mothers don’t put their family in jeopardy. She is a horrible mother. Good mothers don’t take ANY kind of risk where they would be separated from their children. Good mothers don’t steal…”
