Counting On alums Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard celebrated Halloween this year, which is unusual for the former reality TV family cast. And, their theme got many TLC fans buzzing on social media. Read on to find out why.

When she and Derick Dillard appeared in Amazon’s docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, it indicated that she would not be silenced again. Then, she brought out her book, Counting The Cost, which did very well. So, this Halloween, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if she was a bit controversial.

Derick Dillard has always been outspoken. Remember, he even slammed his father-in-law, Jim Bob, when he ran for office during the height of press coverage about Josh Duggars CSAM crimes. So, the TLC alum, like his wife, Jill Duggar is also controversial and unapologetic. Therefore, it seems no big shock that he and his wife celebrated Halloween this year. Notably, most Counting On cast members don’t do that sort of thing.

TLC Fans Buzz About Halloween Theme

Derick and his wife went and voted this year, and they shared a photo of themselves on Instagram. Then, on Instagram stories, a photo appeared of the Counting On alums dressed up in their Halloween costumes. No, they were not stunning, but they sent a clear message as to their political views. 

On Reddit, TLC fan u/InSicily1912 seemed disappointed in the Halloween outfit chosen by Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard. The garbage bags and outfit chosen are, of course, a direct reference to President Biden suggesting that Donald Trump’s supporters are “garbage.”

Naturally, those TLC fahs who are not voting for Trump had a lot to say. Nobody expressed surprise that they “came out” so to speak because it seems that this year, MAGA supporters are vocal and not cowering under bushes. Here are some reactions:

• Oh, Derick. We knew you were garbage already. You didn’t have to attach the label.
• Wearing pants and getting a nose ring doesn’t suddenly make her woke or liberal.
• I can’t imagine my entire personality being centered around my political party. I’m a flaming liberal all the way, but you will never catch me idolizing politicians. They are public servants, not deities.
• You can take the fundie out of the cult, but you can’t always take the cult out of the fundie. Disappointed but not surprised.
