Is it Bad Luck That Meghan Markle’s Ventures Keep Hitting Walls?

Is it Bad Luck That Meghan Markle's Ventures Keep Hitting Walls?

Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard is struggling to take off after she officially launched it on social media and shared its branded jams with friends and influencers, including Kris Jenner and Chrissy Teigen, earlier this year.

Despite the initial excitement surrounding the brand, which is reportedly meant to market home products, nothing much has developed from it. The excitement is running down, and fans are left wondering what’s happening behind-the-scenes of the Duchess of Sussex’s first venture into the businessworld.

Meghan Markle’s American Riviera Orchard Suffers Blow With Million-dollar Trademark Dispute

Per a source speaking to US Weekly, American Riviera Orchard “will likely be very much in line with who Meghan is as a person. She loves hosting events, and she’s very thoughtful about how she treats her guests whenever they come over.”

For all the fans waiting for American Riviera Orchard to drop any day now, you may need to wait a little while longer.

An Oregon company has just filed a trademark case against the former actress’ brand, claiming there’s likely to be confusion between her brand name and theirs, which is Royal Riviera. The company started in 1934 and now has over 3,000 workers.

Apart from the trademark dispute and rumors claiming Netflix has pressed pause on the cooking show that would have heralded the official public launch of the brand, Meghan also suffered a blow when the US Patents and Trademarks Office issued notices of irregularities in her application. The office informed her that irregularities must be corrected before the brand’s full-scale launch next year.

However, a source revealed that such “irregularities” are quite common and entirely expected due to discrepancies between US and UK classification of goods.

The brand’s launch delay follows a trail of failures that have been following Meghan since she waded back into Hollywood following her and her husband’s controversial exit from the Royal Family. For one, Netflix rejected her animated show ‘Pearl,’ even though they chose to approve Harry’s Invictus Games documentary, and Spotify cancelled her Archetypes podcast after just one season run.

When Will Meghan Markle’s Delayed Netflix Cooking Show Premiere

Supposing Meghan doesn’t run into more snags next year, her Netflix show and brand should debut early.

The show will see Meghan cook, clean, garden, and entertain friends.
