How Significant Is It That Princess Beatrice Officially Stepped In For Prince William?

Since King Charles and Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis were made earlier this year, the Royal Family has been found to lack individuals that can step in during times of crisis such as these.

While Princess Anne did her best to hold down the fort – she’s not the hardest working royal in words only – the absence of these two most senior royals was very well felt.

At the time, there were speculations that Charles may choose to bring in Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to fill the space left by the void of Andrew, Harry and Meghan.

This didn’t happen. However, with Beatrice stepping in for Prince William at an official capacity recently, does it mean there’s still chance they may end up being working royals after all?

Princess Beatrice – Steps In For Prince William At An Earthshot Prize Event Following Princess Anne’s Accident

Princess Anne’s recent accident and subsequent hospitalization has left a gaping hole in the monarchy, even though the King has been out and about in recent times – and it’s expected that Princess Kate will slowly ease her way back into the public eye.

Due to his busy schedule, Prince William has had to turn to cousin Princess Beatrice for help.

According to The Mirror, Princess Beatrice filled in for Prince William at a June 25 Earthshot Prize event since his schedule was occupied by the arrival of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, who is in London for an official state visit.

While Beatrice is not yet an official working royal, she reportedly stepped into the role fluidly. According to people at the event, Beatrice easily mingled with the crowd and talked to investors and philanthropists.

They reportedly discussed the idea of “water as an emerging investment theme” during the event.

Insider Claims Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie Are Open To Stepping Up

Princess Beatrice’s engagement on behalf of William comes after a friend claimed that her and her sister are willing to step up and be of help to the Monarchy.

“It seems mean that the girls aren’t being used at all when they have made it clear they want to be of service, especially when Prince Andrew has been accepted back into the fold,” the friend shared. “They have done nothing wrong and they shouldn’t be visited with the sins of their father. They are very upset to have been ignored by the king as they feel they have a lot to offer, but ultimately not surprised. They are sanguine about it.”
