How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s American Dream Is Cracking

The Hollywood Reporter’s damning report about Meghan Markle came as Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday, and the aftermath is yet to completely blow over.

According to the article, several former staff members reached out to the magazine to label Meghan Markle a “bully” and a “dictator in heels.”

Meghan has since clapped back through an exclusive piece on Us Weekly, but even that’s not enough to cast the bad cloud away.

The bullying allegations have since been picked up by other US publications like the Daily Beast and the New York Post, further damaging Meghan’s image in America.

When the bullying claims were first made in the UK, Meghan was quick to dismiss it as a “calculated smear campaign,” and Harry further told of her generosity to staff in his book ‘Spare,’ where he alleged she would take flowers to any member of staff that was sick.

However, as Hollywood Reporter doubles down on their previous report by claiming a current senior staff was among those who complained of her bullying, the Sussexes’ carefully curated world seem to be crashing.

Speaking on this to The Sun, royal author Hugo Vickers said: “I think there have always been a certain number of cracks developing.

Obviously, they had quite a good time at the beginning. But the trouble is, it is this high-energy, competitive world in which they now exist which is very, very hard to deal with.”

Before becoming a royal, Meghan has had a somewhat successful career as an actress, so she probably had more insight into the industry than Harry. However, it seems her experience isn’t doing much to save her from certain things.

Vickers explained that Meghan is probably one of those people who are nice whenever the going is good, but when things turn sour, well, the claws come out. “I’m sure that it’s one of those situations where, probably, when things are going well they’re very generous… and they remember their birthdays, and they send them little gifts and all that sort of stuff, but the moment things get stressful, that’s when you see the true side.”

He added: “I’m afraid I rather veer on the side of thinking that she’s difficult, and it’s not a good sign if you can’t be good with your staff, you know you’re in trouble.”
