How Did General Hospital’s Jason Morgan Really ‘Die’?

General Hospital spoilers tease the return of Steve Burton as Jason Morgan on March 4. This will technically be Jason’s THIRD comeback from the dead, but the second time Burton is playing a resurrected Jason. Billy Miller played Jason for the first return, but then he turned out to be Jason’s twin, Drew.

General Hospital Spoilers – Jason Morgan’s Marriage Is Over Before It Begins

In the fall of 2021, it seemed that Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) lifelong dream had come true. She’d finally married Jason.

However, before they could consummate the marriage, Carly’s presumed dead husband Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)turned up alive.

Dejected and rejected, Jason removed his wedding ring and decided to play hero for Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

Jason had already dumped Britt before marrying Carly. The marriage was supposed to be for mob containment purposes, but oddly enough, Carly and Jason decided they had always been in love.

However, with Sonny back, their romantic relationship so it was time for Jason to see if Britt needed him.

GH Spoilers – Britt Westbourne Has A Job For Jason

It turned out that Britt was desperate for help. Her mother had been kidnapped by Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) and she needed to find her and bring her home.

Jason traveled to Cassadine Island with Britt, where they also found Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), and Jason’s presumed dead brother, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

Jason was the one who managed to break Drew free from Victor’s tarot card mind control but Jason couldn’t break himself free from Cassadine Island.

While trying to rescue Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), an explosion took place in the Cassadine tunnels and Jason was buried beneath the rubble.

After an extensive search, no body was found, but that didn’t stop Jason’s family from declaring him legally dead again.

Carly moved on without Jason and Sonny, Britt was killed by Heather Webber (Alley Mills), and Jason’s sons became angst-filled teenagers without him around.

With Jason reappearing on the Port Charles scene again any day, he is about to shock everyone he loves one more time. We can’t wait to find out just where he’s been for the last two years.
