After more than a month of hoping he would be her daughter’s saving grace, Laura has been left feeling defeated and nearly hopeless.
But there are two possible scenarios in which Lulu could pull through this with Lucky’s help — albeit against GH policy entirely. The hospital isn’t willing to even entertain Lucky as a donor because of a parasite they found that compromised his liver.
While it’s not a major health risk for him, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) didn’t hesitate to tell Lucky it could kill his sister.
As Laura processes this news and realizes there may be people in her corner willing to take some risks since Lulu has no other option, will she push for Lucky’s liver donation despite the fact that it may kill her little girl?
Elizabeth was gentle and understanding when she broke this bad news to Lucky. It was hardly what she wanted to be sharing with him. This devastating news matters to her, too, but she’s just doing her job and following the rules.
Still, Elizabeth has been known to break those rules a time or ten. Will this be another occasion if Lucky and Laura plead with the Head Nurse to help them pull off a transplant surgery without anyone knowing?
Who can she trust to loop into this process? Co-Chief of Staff Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) just might sign off on it for the sake of being a family friend.
Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) was adamant from the get-go with Lucky that he is done being a transplant surgeon. It seems like some bad traumas or memories might lurk in his past that he’s not ready to talk about just yet.
Regardless, no part of him ever wants to perform such a surgery again, let alone one with such major risks. But the hospital probably can’t risk the liability of any of their paid staff performing this transplant.
That means Lucky needs a skilled transplant surgeon on his side who can do this under the radar — even if it may end up killing the recipient, Lulu. Will he and Laura be able to convince Isaiah to do it? Will Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) have any pull with him?
There is another option though. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) left for rehab in late June and we haven’t seen him since.
Yes, he’s well past his ninety days to get sober and straightened out, and yet he’s not had any communication with his loved ones — not even his daughter, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love).
However, with Finn’s name coming up more and more as of late, we have to wonder whether he’s returning to the canvas — even as a recast.
Could it be he’s the superstar doctor who comes back just in time to do the risky surgery no one else will touch and save Lulu’s life? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
